WINE
A better, living example of the fruits of the earth is hard to find. Every vintage, every bottle, even every sip is different. Few other foods are as alive and dynamic as wine. And the Pacific NW (Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia) have vibrant and still somewhat undiscovered examples of what a great wine region is all about.
Here in the Midwest, distribution is still somewhat limited. So when the opportunity presents itself, CHOOSE a wine from the Pacific Northwest. Perhaps a Riesling from Washington to go with your hummus Tapas plate. Or an Oregon Pinot Noir to go with your salmon or Nieman Ranch pork chop.
How about a Cabernet Franc Ice wine from the Okanagan Valley, in British Columbia, with your tiramisu or mild chocolate based desserts.
